Maria Trimble Jewelry: Shapes and Stones
Since 2015, Maria Trimble has been exploring her love of wearables and jewellery in her downtown Toronto apartment/studio. Restraint in design is important to Maria who carefully chooses stones to punctuate silver and brass forms cut with soft geometry. These earrings are at once pieces of quiet elegance and covetable statements. Here's a peek inside her space.
In this space where she makes and also relaxes, we chatted about style and creative influences while her dog Finley slept on the sofa. Her apartment is bright and welcoming. Plants and special objects live comfortably together on the shelves. A lifted jewellery box lid reveals Maria's own work alongside pieces belonging to her grandmother who was herself an artist and craftsperson. These treasures from the past feel at home in the present.
