Moving and Making Home
Moving spaces had been long overdue but not quite considered. I had imagine the whole ordeal being fairly uncomplicated; grab a box, put things in, seal and carry. Instead I found trinkets and treasures in every corner, toppled over and collecting dust. Herds of miniature brass animals lined my shelves, paper cut-outs taped to closet doors and jars filled with rainbows made up of tangled string. It felt like a marathon, deciding what was loved and what had just been lived with. Unlike others, I hadn't expected it to take an emotional and physical toll, I truly believed I lived a minimalist life. With this move, many things were abandoned, left on the curb for someone else to discover and hopefully enjoy, but some have followed me home, to my new home.
